EMI has a great recording of all 6 suites played by Mstislav Rostropovich. He titles the first suite "Lightness". It's wonderful. 11 of 11 people found the following review helpful: By A Customer This review is from: You Can Count on Me (Audio CD) Both the movie and the soundtrack are fantastic. I do wish the Bach peices were speckled in throughout the soundtrack, but it is wonderful nonetheless. In response to Jack Fu's question regarding the Bach piece by the grave, it is from St. Matthews Passion, and is called "Aus Liebe will mein Heiland sterben." If you look to purchase it, and are looking for the sound achieved in the film, be careful to seek a version sung by a boy soprano (versus a woman). A CD entitled "Voices of Angels" is a good start. |
