Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception is one of the best game of the year, if not, THE best game this year. With such huge hype surrounding this fantastic sequel, Naughty Dog and Sony decided once again to release the original score. Fortunately, this CD is worth every penny, as Uncharted 3's score is one of the best ever in gaming.
For fans of the series, you still get your new version of Nate's Theme, and this is probably the best version of it yet. However, this score brings out the most emotion and excitement out of all of the scores in the series. Every single track is great, and the change from a slower pace to a faster pace in many tracks is simply awesome. The first disc consists of the main score from the game, mostly the single player tracks. The first disc runs 72 minutes and 18 seconds, which is pretty lengthy on its own. On top of this though, the CD version of Uncharted 3's soundtrack offers a bonus disc with eighteen additional tracks. Some of these are from the...Read more

Edmonson Bests Himself & Delivers Not Only One Of The Best Game Scores But Best Adventure Scores, Period,

Uncharted blew gamers' minds when the first one came out. A simple adventure story driven by relatable characters made everything feel so fresh and new. There was something beyond the amazing acting, gameplay and graphics though. Something that pushed this story to a new level; it was Greg Edmonson's breathtaking score. A score filled with adventure, lush orchestrations, adventurous riffs, touches of humor, romance, brute force and the kitchen sink. It had it all and gamers went nuts. Score fans' ears perked up and never went down. Edmonson brought this cinematic game to life. We are now on Drake's third adventure and we're transported to Arabia through this masterpiece of a game score.
The music is full of so many textures that it's impossible to know where to begin. The score is also mammoth in size and scope. La-La Land Records teams up with Sony to bring us an amazing 2-Disc set filled with over 2 hours of some of the most fun I've had listening to a score. Edmonson...Read more

This is a great soundtrack and a worthy successor to the previous two games in the series. Like its predecessors, it sounds like an Uncharted game, but it also adds its own motifs; in this case, it's kind of a Lawrence of Arabia, "desert"-sounding theme. It ends up working pretty well. Nate's Theme 3.0, for example, adds brass instruments for its version of the main theme. Track 2, "Atlantis of the Sands", has some of the best themes all in one place, which is nice. "Badlands" is likewise well done.
Disc 2 is exclusive to this version and contains not only additional tracks from the singleplayer story, but also remixes of some of the tracks as they're used for multiplayer powerplays. I do miss the exclusive remix track that Uncharted 1 and 2's respective soundtracks had, but since this one basically has three remix tracks, I can't really complain.
I was a bit dismayed to learn that this is a limited run--even though I now own one of the 3,000 copies, I wish the...Read more
