The Cape was a show that just didn't find its audience. It definitely didn't belong on network television that's for sure. So in a flash the series came, it got moved around the schedule and finally cancelled. The fact that the hero's name was The Cape didn't help much to sell the show. In fact that hero name belongs with The Coon and other South Park hero names. However, one of the biggest aspects of the show was not the silly costumes or cheesy acting. It was Bear McCreary's amazing score. Now La-La Land Records has released a phenomenal 2-disc set. Today every superhero is held under a microscope and examined next to The Dark Knight. It's just the way it is. Christopher Nolan and Hans Zimmer pushed the genre away from large themes and theatrics, and that is a very good thing in my opinion. But it is true that sometimes I long for that old-fashioned feel, and here McCreary delivers that.
