Product Review

At the time of its release, this was the watershed for soundtracks, selling a kazillion copies. It documents Whitney Houston's character in the Kevin Costner movie, which required Houston to play only herself (although one hopes she wouldn't end up with someone as smarmy as Costner). The album is as much a testament to the production of Babyface who, through the mid-1990s, actually was the mainstream of contemporary hit music. Houston's singing is much better than her acting, and almost every song enjoyed a long tenure at the top of all the charts. Along with "I Will Always Love You" and five other Houston songs, the soundtrack also features Lisa Stansfield, Kenny G with Aaron Neville, and Joe Cocker with Sass Jordan. --Scott Wilson

Summary: Excellent Quality 2010-07-20
Comment: I recently purchased the original soundtrack and am completely satisfied with the excellent quality of the CD. I love to buy products from Amazon because I'm never disappointed in the price of the product or the quality of the service. I use the standard shipping, but the product usually arrives much sooner than expected.

Summary: Whitney in her prime 2010-06-11
Comment: Every track that Whitney sang on this soundtrack is amazing. The control, the raw talent, the range, the power, the softness, all the great things about her voice are on display in the songs on this soundtrack. She was in her prime here, and I think the only word that could accurately describe her voice on this soundtrack is...perfection.

I won't say anything about the other songs, the songs not sang by Whitney Houston, because I have never heard them.

Summary: The Bodyguard: Original Soundtrack Album 2010-02-05
Comment: The six songs with which Whitney Houston kicks off in this soundtrack, brings her gospel roots front and center on the half dozen tracks which feature her soaring vocals, which leaves the competition gasping at her immaculate vocal skill and ability to personalize songs. This CD is artistically satisfying and uncharacteristically hip.

Summary: great sound 2010-01-08
Comment: I have enjoyed the music from this movie for years. The CD is very nice. Whitney's music gives me a chance to stretch my vocal cords. Also this music is powerful but does not bounce my nerves.
