For the first time during his historic career the world's best selling tenor Andrea Bocelli will be releasing a collection of his greatest hits. The CD will feature selections from the Bocelli repertoire and include "Time To Say Goodbye" in duet with Sarah Brightman from the 4 time platinum selling Romanza CD, "The Prayer" in duet with Celine Dion from the 2 time platinum selling Sogno CD, plus Bocelli favorites "Because We Believe" from his most recent platinum recording Amore, "Melodramma" from Cieli Di Toscana and more. The release will also feature 4 new exclusive recordings: A duet with one of the world's most popular pianists Lang Lang and new David Foster compositions.

There will be a nationally televised concert special airing on PBS - Andrea's first full pop concert that was recorded in July with the Tuscan country side as a backdrop. The concert repertoire includes all the songs the will be on the forth coming Greatest Hits CD and features guests Chris Botti, Kenny G, Lang Lang and more. Look for PBS to broadcast this program multiple times during their upcoming December 2007 pledge period reaching over 10 million households.

"Vivere" translates from Italian to English as "To Live"

Andrea Bocelli, the world's most popular tenor (and Best selling) and pop sensation as well, has recorded The Best of Andrea Bocelli, Vivere what is a wonderful collection of his crossover (semi classical pop) songs and is a must for every Bocelli fan. Every song on the CD is wonderful and all the hit songs have been re mastered (or remixed) and sound better than ever.

The Songs include a nice selection of some of Bocelli's best work (it would take a 10 CD set to give us all of his best work-both clasicl and Popular); Bocelli has a very beautiful voice, that expresses much emotion. His tone and diction are excellent and his Volume is much better then the critics claim, he voice is always moving, his singing touches one's heart and goes righ into ones soul. The tracks include Songo; from the Songo album; It may be his best song ever. IL Mare Calmo Della Sera from the Romanza album (and an Earlier Album with the tital IL Mare Clamo Della Sera); this was his first hit and...Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars The benchmark of excellence., October 30, 2007

This review is from: The Best of Andrea Bocelli: Vivere (Audio CD)
Andrea Bocelli, the blind and popular Italian tenor who, since making his stage debut in 1994, has sold millions of CDs worldwide, has released a collection of his greatest hits.
Never mind that he is "not very good" and his high notes can evoke "strangulation".
You might pity some music critics, who were faced with a nasty dilemma some months ago. Were they to fall in with the many fans of Mr Bocelli for whom he is evidently the next Pavarotti and echo their adulation? Or should they write what they believed - that his singing is flawed - and be accused of snobbery?
After a concert, the New York Time critic quoted "The tone is rasping, thin and, in general, poorly supported... "Even the most modest upward movement thins it even more, signalling what appears to be the onset of strangulation...
To his credit, Mr Bocelli sings mostly in tune. But his phrasing tends toward carelessness and rhythmic jumble, and the little barks and husky vocal expletives that are...Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars We've heard it all before, November 18, 2007
This review is from: The Best of Andrea Bocelli: Vivere (Audio CD)
Never mind that Bocelli fans have heard all the critics have to say, and could care less, so we really didn't need a recap. There aren't enough critics to fill the front row of a concert venue. Leave that up to those of us who can fill them many times over, easily, easily.

This CD has something for everyone. The new songs for those of us who never get tired of the oldies but goodies. "Io ci saro"--a vocal and instrumental masterpiece. "Bellisme stelle" a reminder that the Tenor can rock. "La voce del silenzio" pretty awesome. "A te"--the verdict is still out at this point. And a couple of these songs are reminders that beyond his voice Mr. B. is not a bad lyricist.

And the oldies? "Sogno"--Bocelli at his best. Sung with such depth of feeling. "Il Mare Calmo Della Sera" was a good choice although I wish he'd have rerecorded it. His voice has matured so beautifully over the years, I'd love to hear what he could do with them now. Although the original...Read more
