A Tremendous Score,

Simply put - great music sung by great singers. There's dramatic music, rousing music, romantic music, light-hearted music - all accompanied by literate, clever and intelligent lyrics, and all memorable. I saw the show on Broadway a number of times, and with each subsequent performance I was still as entertained and as moved as if I was seeing it for the very first time. I not only highly recommend this CD, but I also recommend the DVD that is available.

My son and I had the opportunity to see this wonderful, delightful, moving adaptation of Charles Dickens' Tale of Two Cities when it played on Broadway. I had read the novel in school, but had to really push through it. I was so glad when that semester ended! Then, twenty-odd years later, came the Broadway Show! I was so happy when the producers released this brilliantly-mastered CD, as it helps me go back and remember the magic of the show I had in New York that night.
In this recording, the producers clearly went out of their way to not only have most of the original cast, but also to really work the engineering and music to deliver even more punch and beauty than the on-stage performances. I didn't think it could be done,...Read more

I loved watching this musical when it was performed locally, and the soundtrack is as amazing as I remembered. It is both humorous and touching at times. The music by Frank Wildhorn (The Scarlet Pimpernel, Jekyll and Hyde, Civil War) is incredible. I also recommend the Tale of Two Cities DVD with this same cast.
