This is pretty straightforward, disco album. If you heard there last album. .. oh about twenty years ago, its roughly the same thing. Same style and beat. Though, that is not to say its bad, its just the same old stuff and approach, but fun to listen to.

The singing however, is not. I like the beats, but there are a few tracks (one maybe two) that the vocals are just simply bad. The womans' voice just comes off a little stale, and out of rhythm. But overall, the CD is fun, if you just want your kids to dance to some, well, dance music with star wars sound fx thrown in.

My only complaint (besides the woman's singing style) is that the individual tracks are not balanced properly. So, for instance, some tracks come off stronger and louder, even though you never touch the volume dial. While others you have to keep turning up, to hear it. Probably, anyone looking at this is expecting the mega-hit Star Wars Meco single, from over twenty years ago. This ain't it. This is an album of new material, with weak rapping over Star Wars sampling, and tepid songs about Star Wars topics, like the Force and fate, and destiny.

You should instead look for the "The Best of Meco" which DOES include the fantastic Star Wars disco single, the Empire Strikes Back follow-up song, as well as the lesser known Close Encounters disco single. That's the groovy disco flash back that we all knew and loved, not this "Star Wars Party." The party is over on the OTHER album!

Wow! I just listened to Meco's Star Wars Party and it is smoking!! None of those old-fashioned instrumentals here. All ten songs are either vocals or characters rapping to the beat. My favorites are "I Am Your Father" in which Vader tells Luke the awful truth about himself - "Live Your Life" where we are told that if we live our lives like a Jedi, then the Force will be with us! - and how could you not love those Wookiees bogeying on down with Chewie making it funky on "Boogie Wookiee"? Five stars!!!
