i purchased this cd thinking it would contain traditional renditions of the listed material. i was in for a surpise. while Theme from Star Wars, Yoda's Theme [Star Wars], Darth Vader's Theme [Star Wars], Conversation [From Close Encounters of the Third Kind], Apperance of the Visitors [From Close Encounters of the Third Kind] and Blue Danube [From 2001: A Space Odyssey] are what i expected, the remainder of the cd is orchestral/disco versions of the originals. i must say i was quite unhappy initially, as i am no fan of disco. but this cd quickly grew on me. in fact, i listen to it at least once a day while working. i'm not sure, but i think the Theme from "Close Encounters of the Third Kind] is the same as the disco hit from the late '70s. all in all, once the shock wore off, i was very satisfied with this purchase.

the Star Wars thems are short and way to brief, however at least this is done by an orchestra. For gentle readers as horrible as it sounds almost every other track on this thing has a bad disco base line palyed as back up for the theme(except Strauss's Blue Danube). If you just want the basic Star Wars theme for little money then get it oterwise avoid this cd at all cost.
