Andrea Bocelli's Sogno ("Dream") is a pop album of entirely original compositions that evoke traditional and modern influences. Bocelli himself describes the CD as secular Italian traditional melodic music with a contemporary twist. The album's 14 tracks include "The Prayer," a Bocelli and Celine Dion duet produced by David Foster; "Come un Fiume Tu," an intriguing collaboration with soundtrack maestro Ennio Morricone; "O Mare e Tu," a duet with Dulce Pontes; and "Sogno" (the first single excerpted from the album), a light-as-a-feather, emotional composition sung by Bocelli with his typical vocal emphasis, which has made him famous around the world since the release of his self-titled debut. --Ernesto De Pascale

Summary: Not Andrea Bocelli's best album, but nice enough 2010-07-21
Comment: I'm a fan of Andrea Bocelli and love his music and recordings. This one is not his best, but it is a nice addition nonetheless to his complete works. The songs are mostly NOT in English, and the volume (i.e. 'fullness') of the sound is not as impressive as some of this artist's other albums. It is a slower, softer, more meditative album and Andrea rarely seems to 'give his all' as far as his voice ability and fullness. It is, however, a well done album that gives another 'side' of Andrea's performance--a more restrained and quieter recording. If you like Bocelli's work, this will help complete your understanding of his range.

Comment: Of all the Andrea Bocelli CDs, this ranks as probably the best. It has all his best material and his best performances. Sogno is definitely worth the price.
Bocelli is not thought of as a technical master by all music critics for sure. But he packs emotion into his songs that others often lack. When I've played this for people, I can never predict what they will like most. Just when I think I've identified a song that is weaker than the others on this album, somebody discovers that it is the best.

Summary: A Favorite 2009-06-20
Comment: I was introduced to this work two years ago, and while my interest in music has quite a range, I've found this to be a favorite and, in my opinion, the best selection of Bocelli. I ordered this recently as a gift for my 20 year old daughter, who enjoys mostly more widely popular music of the younger crowd, and she absolutely loves "Sogno". For as many times as I've listened to the album, it never loses it's magic.

Comment: Great to listen to when trying to relax. I listen to it at work and after work too. It eases the tension. He is an amazing artist, singer. My wife enjoys this as well.

Summary: Romance 2007-06-12
Comment: If you like your music nice and low and in Italian, you'll love Andrea Bocelli. I do, that's why I have almost everything he's done. This truly is music for people over 40 who want and like romance in their life. (what can I say except I'm getting old)
