I saw Mucca Pazza live at MakerFaire:Austin 10/19/2008 and was blown away by their high energy live performance. I'm not quite sure how to describe the sound except maybe a rawkin'punk pep-rally ?
I ran out and purchased this CD and I absolutely love it.

This is one of the most deranged marching bands you will ever come across. Part circus-act, part punk rock, part marching band, this band is a full energy, in-your-face experience that is not to be missed! The 30-piece group includes standard marching band instruments like saxophones, sousaphone, trumpets, trombones, and drums in addition to accordion, guitar, violin, and designated cheerleaders.
I saw this band recently, they are all dressed up in mismatched band uniforms and costumes... they marched and danced around on stage, and went into the audience, marching around the theater! It was one of the most fun concert experiences I have enjoyed in a while.
The music has a tinge of Czech/Turkish (Eastern European) flavor, and includes two pieces by classical composers Bela Bartok and Dmitri Shostakovich (both from Eastern Europe). The crazy anc chaotic music on this CD is a riot and is fun for the whole family!
Enjoy the goofy antics of MUCCA PAZZA!

Marching bands are the forgotten ethnic music, but of this band is any sign they are due for a big comeback. MuccaPazza is hip, funny, and they're really good musicians too. Great rowdy fun.
