5.0 out of 5 stars .... The best sountrack of the year 2000, July 12, 2000

The year of the soundtrack continues with the best soundtrack I've heard in the year 2000, "The Nutty Professor 2" soundtrack. The format of songs from this soundtrack is the same approach that was used on the previous "Nutty Professor" soundtrack: An equal mixture of hip hop and r&b songs. Many Def Jam and Def Soul artists are featured on this soundtrack: DMX, Jay Z, Case, Method Man, Redman, Sisqo & Jazz of Dru Hill, and Foxy Brown. Out of the r&b songs, Case's "Missing You" is the clear winner. This is the best Case song I've heard in a while, comparable to "Faded Pictures". Janet's "Doesn't Really Matter" and Jazz of Dru Hill's "Here With Me" both come in a close 2nd and 3rd. Out of the hip hop songs, Jay Z's "Hey Papi" is the clear winner. Timbaland has another winner on his hands with this track. Jay Z also gets an assist from Memphis Bleek and Amil to make this the best song on...Read more

O.K., not to be rude, but there are people who are giving this album bad reviews because they cuss on it. Well, you know, give me a good rap/r&b album where they don't say anything bad. "Doesn't Really Matter" by Janet is a nice, poppy song that I like O.K. "Hey Papi" by Jay-Z feat Memphis Black is a really good rap song. "Let Me Be" by Eve shows why I think that Eve is the best woman rapper out there right now. "Get With Me" is a another pretty cool, poppy song by Shorty 101. For the hard core rap fans out there, Eminem and Redman team up on "Off the Wall"(funny lyrics). Method Man and DMX both come through with good efforts on songs too. Sisqo and Foxy Brown do a pretty good remix of Sisqo's hit "Thong Song". Last, for you r&b fans out there, Jazz of Dru Hill makes a good song with "Here With Me", along with the songs "Thinking 'Bout Me" by Brian McKnight and "Just a Touch" by R. Kelly...Read more

The Nutty Professor 2 soundtrack is by far the best soundtrack of the year. Ranging in styles from soft R&B from Brian McKnight and Case, to the catchy pop of Janet Jackson, to the tight rap verses of Method Man, DMX, Jay-Z, Red Man and Eminem.Personally, my favorite track is number five, "Even If" by Method Man. The great beat combined with the mind blowing flow of Method Man is sure to please any rap fan.I don't recommend buying the editied version of the CD. Censoring the lyrics (which are profane on a few of the tracks) takes away from the songand how it was meant to be heard. Take it as it is, and you'll get your money's worth.
