Summary: Its missing several tracks! 2008-11-14
Comment: The 26 tracks that are actually included on the CD are good but where are the other 10 minutes of songs?!!! What a rip-off. Be sure to buy the FULL soundtrack not this version.
Edit: Okay I figured out that the USA version is missing several tracks from Altan Urag. I bought the CD for the ending credit song, called Blue Mark, but it is not on the USA version. The international version of the soundtrack is available on international versions of Amazon, but alas not here. Note that there are several versions of Blue Mark. The one from the movie is only available on the international version of the soundtrack--the version on Altan Urag's CDs is slowed down.

Summary: Short but Sweet 2008-09-18
Comment: I adored the movie, and part of my adoration came from the amazing music. I was not disappointed with this soundtrack, though I was surprised at the short lengths of the tracks and minimal liner notes. Other wise, a great buy!

Summary: Powerful combination of vocals and orchestra 2008-07-30
Comment: Soundtrack fanatics know that every once in a while you see a movie that has a soundtrack so powerful, so amazing, that as soon as the first track plays during the opening scene of the film you exclaim to yourself "I must have this soundtrack." The hunt for said soundtrack can last for days, months, or even years. Thankfully Amazon had this to preorder even though I had to wait a month, but boy was it worth it.
The soundtrack opens with a powerful, tribal, gutteral, almost surreal howling of a man. Throughout the album, this sound is weaved intricately with familiar orchestral sounds and a few instruments that are as fundamental to Mongol culture as the howl itself. Not only is this male vocal repeated in other tracks, but it is joined by a similarly powerful female vocal that gives the tracks a haunting power.
If you are a fan of film scores but tired of the same old from the usual composers, you must buy this album to experience the power and majesty portrayed in the music that rivals The Dark Knight.
