From the opening number, "He Lives in You", until the final number, "Love Will Find A Way".
The opening track would rival the original Lion King's opener in "Circle of Life". It is very well constructed and gives you shivers of how well it is sung. On a high from the first track, the soundtrack only gets better with the utterly brilliant "We Are One." A perfectly crafted pop/ballad tune that has significant meaning in the movie. Simba and Nala sing it in a duet and their voices blend perfectly together in the sombre backing music. FANTASTIC!!! But, after 2 songs, you think can this album get any better? The answer is yes, yes it can get alot better, and i is about to. Track 3 delivers the soundtracks finest moment in Rafiki's number, "Upendi". This is a fun, well lyriced song with a party/love feel to it. Upendi means love, and that's what the song is about. This review is from: Lion King 2: Simba's Pride (Audio CD) This soundtrack never grows old - I have it playing right now on repeat. This is a case where the sequel is just as good as the original - and the music is also! The fantastic songs "He Lives in You" and "One of Us" are on my top 20 songs list.
What a value - $6.25 for a magical piece of disney. How can anyone resist? Don't! 8 of 10 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Lion King 2: Simba's Pride (Audio CD) The Score to 1998's Lion King DTV Somewhat unecessary sequel is, surprisingly, not that bad. The opening number "He Lives in You", borrowed from the stage show, certainly not a rousing showstopper ala the "Circle of Life", may be only suffecient enough, but it's made up for in such songs as "Upendi", a touching duet between farther and daughter harking back to the post Elephant Graveyard exchange between Mufasa and a young Simba in the original. "One of Us" is an important song in advancing the plot of the film, but rarely anything else, while "Love Will Find A Way" is somewhat of an improvement on the Classic, yet fairly undistinguished "Can You Fell The Love Tonight". The latter however, sounded much prettier! It's "My Lullaby" however, a delicious "Villans Planning Song", that makes the score all the more worthwhile. Just as "Be Prepared" did in the original, "Lullaby" does for SP, offering us a purely Evil song, with witty, clever, even daring, lyrics that can't help but...Read more |
