Josh Groban in Concert has all the ingredients to be a long-running PBS staple: a young (21), good-looking performer with a golden voice; songs in Italian and Spanish for the crossover crowd (i.e., Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman) and pop and movie songs for the mainstream; guest stars galore (David Foster, John Williams, Angie Stone, Andrea Corr, Lili Haydn); a large orchestra; and striking but not obtrusive visual effects. The centerpiece of this DVD-CD combo (also available in a DVD keepcase) is the 80-minute concert DVD, filmed in Pasadena in October 2002 and featuring numerous songs from Groban's debut CD, including "You're Still You," which catapulted him into stardom when he sang it on TV's Ally McBeal. There are also two new songs--the ballad "Broken Vow," with Groban accompanied by Foster, and "For Always," with the orchestra conducted by John Williams, who wrote the song for the Steven Spielberg film A.I..
The 37-minute CD offers seven songs performed in the concert (including the two not on the previous CD, "Broken Vow" and "For Always"), plus "O Holy Night." The DVD has excellent picture and sound (PCM stereo, Dolby Digital 5.1, and DTS), interviews, and backstage footage, and the combination with the CD is an excellent value. Groban's fans, of course, will consider it a treasure at any price. --David Horiuchi

Summary: My Josh Groban In Concert experience 2010-09-07
Comment: My dad first introduced me to Josh Groban when he put in a cd of his music. right when I heard his voice I absolutely fell in love with his voice. This is one of his best albums. I saw his great performances special on tv and I thought to myself I have to have the cd and DVD. After I purchased the cd/DVD, I could not stop watching the DVD. The cd and DVD are incredible. I could not put the DVD of the concert down. As I am watching this wonderful DVD version of his PBS concert I feel like I am actually at the venue watching it performed live. The Songs that he does on the DVD are amazing. Especially the songs that he does in Italian, Spanish and English. What is also neat is that he gets to perform with some special guests including David Foster, Andrea Corr, Angie Stone, Lili Haydn and John Williams. The two songs on the DVD which I love are Broken Vow and of course To Where You Are when he is joined by David Foster on the piano. I absolutely recommend this concert to anyone who has never seen it before. This concert is a must have for any fan of Josh Groban who has one of the most amazing voices ever.

Comment: This young singer is amazingly mature and I had seen him on pbs so when I saw this cd/ dvd for sale on amazon I grabbed it and was extremely pleased with my purchase ,It has many of his songs and many accomplished musicians accompanying him. Produced by David Foster and filmed live in CA . Also ,contained a clip and some footage that his brother Chris Groban had filmed backstage.This is a favorite if you are a Josh Groban fan.

Comment: I am so pleased with my purchase of Joshua Groban's CD, that I recommend it to others. I do not understand Italian , but I can sing along or hum.I enjoy the English songs as well.
