I bought this CD for one song, "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" and found myself enjoying it from beginning to end. This CD is heavy on the Frankie Valli works of the 1970s, music of my childhood. I find myself thinking each track is musically brilliant. Songs that no one would consider to be classic tracks actually are. "Swearin' to God," "Who Loves You," "My Eyes Adored You," are all the perfect marriage of lyric and music, but also arranged and sang in such a way to make you really feel the song. When he sings "My eyes adored you, though I never laid a hand on you my eyes *adored* you" you really believe him. "Swearin' to God," makes you feel as if you're in a 70s disco, and again, more importantly, the singing, the production, and so on all combine to make you believe the song. With his glass shattering falsetto, Frankie Valli has one of the most distinctive voices in music. This cd is a nice combination of the band's mid to late 60's efforts along with all of Mr. Valli's big solo hits. The band's "Let's Hang On", "Opus 17" & "Tell It To The Rain" still found fresh and Mr. Valli's solo "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" is one of the ultimate sing-a-long songs in history. Some of the 70's stuff like "My Eyes Adored You" venture into schmaltz, but others like the song that never dies "December 1963" (a number one song in 1976 and a Top 40 hit again in the 90's) and the title song to the movie Grease more than make up for it. This isn't the definitive Four Seasons collection, but a nice place to start.

This was my very first Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons CD, and this is also the CD that made me become a FVFS fan! What can I say...the guy's voice is a charm, and this collection has some of his greatest stuff! If you are a young 60's-70's music lover or someone who is barely starting to have an affinity towards those oldies but goodies, pick up this CD as soon as you can! "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" is a beautiful song of course, and if you've only heard the cheap, horrendous new versions of it, you'd better hear the original because it's truly a classic, and a wonder. "Swearin' To God" "Let's Hang On!" "Will You Love Me Tomorrow" and the disco hit "December, 1963" are definately FVFS gems as well. Don't miss out on this super cool CD with songs by the greatest guys in the world: Frankie Valli & The 4 Seasons! :)
