I'd like to say I think every one of these songs are winners. I don't really mind that they share eachothers sound or sound similar or "like" That Handsome Devil's older stuff - you can't put your finger on THD's sound, to be totally honest, and without being able to put your finger on the sound of THD would mean you don't grasp the audacity of the sounds they produce.
First I just want to say that Disco City and Johnny Wouldn't Die are genius tracks. They are very unique and Disco City makes me want to boogie on down to the disco track. Johnny Wouldn't Die makes me want to push the boundaries like Johnny, but eh, I couldn't imagine myself hanging from the lamp cord.
In any case, this is definitely a worthwhile buy if you are looking for a few nice THD tracks that are different compared to City Dressed in Dynamite or their debut album. They are all pretty unique and contain different sound than what THD seems accustom to. There's complexity behind the tracks,...Read more

Alright, i'll break it down track for track.
Bullet Math--(5/5)
Great song, with lots of sound instrumentation and general change in instrumentation. It gets really guitar heavy at a point, and then its a bass groove for a second, and I'm still not sure whats going on in this song.
Stockholm Syndrome--(4/5)
At my first listening, I liked this song, but its definitely not my favorite on the album. It might even be my least favorite, but its got some great lyrics. It isn't terribly complex though, theirs a keyboard, an organ, some horns for a short bit, and a little bit of guitar. Although everytime I hear it I like it more.
Disco City--(5/5)
Some more keyboard in here, it actually reminded me of Stockholm Syndrome for a second. A really good song, and pretty normal greatness as far as lyrics and instrumentation go in a THD song. The first time I heard it, I hated it. But after the second keyboard I heard on the album sounded just...Read more

When I heard that THD dropped another album, I immediately got it. I wasn't disappointed.
"Enlightenment's For Suckers" is a very different sound when compared to their other albums, while still having familiar elements. "Bullet Math" is vastly different, the lead singer Godforbid being the only thing that makes it sound like THD. Its very dark when compared to their previous songs, but is addictive none the less.
The only real weak in the EP is "Eristocrats (Discordia pt. II)," which tries too hard to be the second "Viva Discordia," which was one of their greatest songs off their "A City Dressed In Dynamite" album. The original "Discordia" was catchy, both in rhythm, lyrics and presentation; it is easily one of their best songs. "Discordia pt. II," however, is annoying, because of the instruments, vocals, rhythm and the butchered refrain. It's the reason for the four-star review.
On the opposite end of the spectrum is "Johnny Wouldn't Die." The subject of the song is...Read more
