Hey People, you please have to disregard the 2 star review. I'm usually not someone to diss other reviewers, but that one screams "clueless" so loud I couldn't resist. It's a LIVE Album!!! So of course it's well known (and beloved,by most) songs and no new material. "Sleep through the Static" is not even that old yet (Feb 08). No serious musician or band throws out a new album every year, Jack never did! And I don't think he needs something to stay in peoples head's either, unless he would be aware of the fact that the majority of his fans suffer from severe memory loss, which I believe they don't!
This Live album is great! And I think it's a good time in his career to release one! The live vibe is transported well and the dynamic of the songs is different from the studio albums through lot's of great musical interaction within the band and guest musicians! A fact that was already noticeable on the first Live DVD " A weekend at the Greek" (If anything you could argue if the time...Read more

This is everything a live album that is not one complete concert but a sort of best of from the 2008 Tour should be. Nice booklet with pics from each show to sort of put you there(only bought Cd version, I'm sure the movie really gets you there too!)For me I never heard the song "Country Road" with Paula Fuga, which is a cool little duet with Jack, and she can really sing it out. Every song live has its own little differences not heard on studio versions(mad piano playing rocking). Oh yeah never heard the "Constellations" with Eddie Vedder, sounds pretty cool. This is just a really...Read more

It's Jack Johnson, so I bought the CD. I have all his other CD's so I didn't expect too much from the live album; I've heard all these songs a million times before. But I was blown away. Jack has never sounded better than he does on this album. The songs come alive with Jack riffing on the melodies and the band jamming on the solos. My favorite: "Do You Remember." The studio version of that song (on In Between Dreams) was a folksy tune in cut time. On the live album, it is transformed into a bluesy jam. Plus, Jack tacks on a superior version of Ben Harper's "Remember." Amazing! I have that track on repeat. And listen to Jack's vocals on Paul Simon's "Mother and Child Reunion" and his own "Angel." They bring tears to my eyes. This is a must have for Jack Johnson fans.
