If you enjoyed the movie Dirty Dancing, you will love the soundtrack. This cd is one that can change your mood with just a minute of listening. If you are not having a very upbeat day and you listen to any of the songs found on this cd you will often find yourself tapping your feet or snapping you fingers to the beat. Each of the songs have a different tempo, and each one can meet the mood you are in. The musical style also varies from song to song. Personally, I love this soundtrack and it is one that i play a lot. Everyone I have recommended this cd to also finds it very enjoyable. The songs are not "hard rock" but yet the are not "classical". Dirty Dancing brings back many good memories. It truly is a wonderful film in that it does'nt come across as a routine, sloppy production like so many love stories can be. What compliments the ethos of the film is the sizzling soundtrack. The story in the film is set in the 1960's though the majority of it's soundtrack are tracks recorded in the 1980's and they do admitedly sound very distinctive to that era but never the less it still makes for a tremendously enjoyable soundtrack. I've Had The Time Of My Life is a song that forever will be associated with Dirty Dancing and it's an absolutley magnificent recording at that. as the song plays you almost visualise the triumphant climax of the film where Patrick swayze and Jennifer grey do some electricifying dancing.
