Like many other soundtracks, this is an album better appreciated after seeing the film (which was great by the way). This album features five new songs, including Weezer's cover of The Cars "You Might Think" as well as a track sung in Japanese. The rest of the disc consists of instrumentals composed by Michael Giacchino. The enhanced portion features among other things, the music video of "You Might Think", an image gallery and three movie trailers. If you enjoyed the film, you will enjoy the soundtrack.

Pixar never does what I expect, but what they do is always fantastic. The same is true of "Cars 2". Rather than just making a rehash of the first movie, they made a completely new movie. And a very good movie at that.
Same with the soundtrack. I was a little disappointed when I saw that Randy Newman wasn't doing the soundtrack for this movie, but then I saw the movie and realized that the new soundtrack went perfectly with the new movie. Great job Michael Giacchino (and Pixar)!

Michael Giacchino has done it again. He has composed a superb musical score to another Pixar film. Cars 2 will be a fun family movie just judging by the music. I could listen to Giacchino's musical compositions. all day long. "Porto Corsa" is my favorite instrumental piece of music here. It sounds very heroic. "Mater The Waiter" is my other favorite composition here. It sounds very playful. "The Radiator Springs Grand Prix" is an instrumental piece that captures the excitement of a car race. "Blunder And Lightning" is an instrumental piece that is indicative of the danger and excitement in the film. This soundtrack also contains five songs that are diverse and fun to listen to.
My favorite tune is "Collision Of Worlds". This is an up tempo duet by Brad Paisley and Robbie Williams. Both of these singers have contributed to other Pixar movies before, but this song is probably the best by either of them. This song is about acceptance and friendship between cars from...Read more
